Catalytic oxidation and thermal oxidation-removal of VOC organic waste gas

 

 

 

Product Description

 

1. Introuduction

 

Thermal oxidation is the most suitable treatment technology and method for VOC which is toxic and harmful and does not need to be recycled. The basic principle of oxidation method: VOC reacts with O2 to generate CO2 and H2O. This oxidation reaction is similar to chemical combustion process, but because of its low VOC concentration, no visible flame will be produced in chemical reaction.

 

Generally speaking, oxidation method can ensure the smooth progress of oxidation reaction by two methods:

 

A) heating. Making the organic waste gas containing VOC reach the reaction temperature;

 

B) using catalyst. If the temperature is relatively low, the oxidation reaction can be carried out on the catalyst surface.

 

Therefore, the oxidation method of organic waste gas treatment is divided into the following two methods:

 

A) catalytic oxidation method. At present, there are two kinds of catalysts used in catalytic oxidation, namely noble metal catalysts and non-noble metal catalysts. Precious metal catalysts mainly include Pt, Pd, etc., which are attached to catalyst carriers in the form of fine particles, and catalyst carriers are usually metal or ceramic honeycombs or bulk fillers; Non-noble metal catalysts are mainly prepared by mixing transition element metal oxides, such as MnO2, with binder in a certain proportion. In order to effectively prevent the catalyst from losing its catalytic activity after poisoning, the substances that can poison the catalyst, such as Pb, Zn and Hg, must be thoroughly removed before treatment. If the catalyst poison and covering substance in organic waste gas can not be removed, this catalytic oxidation method can not be used to treat VOC;

 

B) thermal oxidation method. At present, there are three kinds of thermal oxidation methods: thermal combustion, partition and heat storage. The main difference among the three methods lies in the way of heat recovery. All these three methods can be combined with catalytic method to reduce the reaction temperature of chemical reaction. Thermal combustion thermal oxidizer generally refers to gas incinerator. The gas incinerator consists of combustion improver, mixing zone and combustion chamber. Among them, combustion improvers, such as natural gas and petroleum, are auxiliary fuels. During the combustion process, the hot mixing zone generated in the incinerator can preheat VOC waste gas, which can provide enough space and time for the treatment of organic waste gas, and finally realize the harmless treatment of organic waste gas.
